Checklist of wild mammals of Shivapuri Nagarjun National Park, Nepal

An updated checklist of mammalian richness is an important tool for biodiversity conservation and management protected areas. In this study, we present the wild mammals Shivapuri Nagarjun National Park (SNNP) in central mid-hill Nepal based on direct observation, field reports, key informant interviews, a literature review. A total 65 species belonging to eight orders 22 families were known occur park. Order Rodentia (n=21, 32.30%) family Muridae (n=14, 21.53%) have highest record number species. Out mammal species, 53 (81.53%) confirmed their occurrence either by observation camera trap. Only 12 listed review personal communication. SNNP, 1.53% are as critically endangered 9.23% under vulnerable; 6.15% Red List. The confirmation small needs further study robust taxonomy suggest molecular having contradictory taxonomy.
